Who Should Attend?

Personnel responsible for preparing dangerous consignments (IATA Annex H.6.1 / IATA Category 1 & 2) such as:

What You Will Learn?

  • Identify and classify dangerous goods;
  • Pack, mark, and label dangerous goods as per ICAO Technical Instructions and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations;
  • Fill out a shipper’s declaration;
  • Acquire the competencies to understand, comply with the legal aspects of the carriage of dangerous goods by air, and fulfill your duties and responsibilities associated with your shippers and packers’ function.

Training Content

  • Understanding the basics of dangerous goods;
  • Recognizing dangerous goods;
  • Understanding the criticality of classification & packaging;
  • Classifying dangerous goods;
  • Preparing dangerous goods shipment;
  • Preparing the required documentation;
  • Processing/accepting cargo.

Training Duration

  • Minimum 2 days of 8 hours

Training Delivery and Exam Information

Until 31 December 2022, the dangerous goods training can be delivered with a  traditional approach as per IATA Table H.A.1.5A.

  • Initial or Recurrent training;
  • Training Delivery: classroom on-site or virtual training;
  • Exam Information: 30 multiple choice questions / supervised  / 75 minutes / 80% required to pass;
  • CBTA: additional scenario-based question.

Training Certification

Upon successful completion of the exam, you will be awarded an IFOA Certificate valid for 2 years for your records.

Ground Handling And FBO Personnel

Who Should Attend?

Operator, airport, and FBO personnel responsible for accepting passenger and crew baggage,  involved in the loading, and unloading aircraft cargo, mail, and baggage (IATA Annex H.6.4  – H.6.5 – H.6.6  / IATA Category 8 & 9) such as:

  • Ground handling personnel;
  • Loadplanner and loadmaster;
  • Airport and FBO personnel.

What You Will Learn?

  • Identify and classify dangerous goods;
  • Identify hidden and forbidden dangerous goods in cargo, mail and baggage;
  • Interpret hazard communication;
  • Accept passenger and crew baggage;
  • Plan the transport, loading, and unloading of cargo, mail, and baggage to and from aircraft;
  • Implement cargo pre-loading procedures;
  • Understand the Emergency Response procedures;
  • Prepare and issue of NOTOC;
  • Acquire the competencies to understand, comply with the legal aspects of the carriage of dangerous goods by air, and fulfill your duties and responsibilities associated with your functions.

Training Content

  • Understanding the basics of dangerous goods;
  • Recognizing dangerous goods;
  • Identifying forbidden and hidden dangerous goods;
  • Plan loading and offloading of dangerous goods;
  • Report dangerous goods incidents and undeclared dangerous goods;
  • Preparing the required documentation.

What You Will Learn?

  • Identify and classify dangerous goods;
  • Identify hidden and forbidden dangerous goods in cargo, mail, and baggage;
  • Interpret hazard communication;
  • Interpret NOTOCs;
  • Apply the Emergency Response procedures;
  • Acquire the competencies to understand, comply with the legal aspects of the carriage of dangerous goods by air, and fulfill your duties and responsibilities associated with your functions.
